McCallum will designate Crescent Beach and Ocean Park as protected heritage zones, shielding both neighbourhoods from the density pressures created by the province's Bill 44. The designation will protect the natural scenery, community character, and irreplaceable coastal environment that generations of Surrey families have called home.

The Opportunity Zone will be designed for everyone. Attainable housing for middle-class families who want to own a home in the city they work in. A level playing field for the small businesses, local entrepreneurs, and mom-and-pop shops that are the backbone of Surrey's neighbourhoods. In this zone, city hall says yes.

Protecting farmland, fast-tracking greenhouses, and letting farmers sell direct to residents.

Protect Surrey's food supply. Local farmland will be protected from development, so the land that feeds Surrey keeps feeding Surrey.
Fast-track agricultural investment. Rezoning applications for greenhouses and agri-manufacturing will be fast-tracked, attracting major private investment and hundreds of new well-paying jobs for Surrey residents. Greenhouses grow food year-round, and more local supply means more affordable food on Surrey shelves.
Let farmers sell direct to residents. McCallum will pass a policy giving Surrey farmers the right to sell directly to Surrey residents, eliminating the middlemen who drive up the cost of food at every step between the farm and the family.

Rooting out waste, abuse and fraud across city hall.

McCallum committed that one of his first acts as Mayor will be to bring in an independent forensic auditor to examine the City's recent land transactions, and to root out waste, abuse and fraud across city hall.

McCallum also announced that under his leadership, Surrey will withdraw from the Metro Vancouver Regional District, remaining connected only for core utility services: water, sewer and waste.
