Laurie Guerra

Laurie Guerra

Laurie has lived in Surrey for 27 years in the Fleetwood area with her husband and five adult children. She has a solid small business experience, both locally and internationally. On council she has been a strong voice for good fiscal management of taxpayer dollars and has ensured our city is a strong financial position to invest in community infrastructure projects. Laurie has delivered on building two new ice sheets for Cloverdale and SkyTrain to Fleetwood, Clayton heights, and Cloverdale.

Laurie is proud to have been chair of the Public Engagement Task Force and is actively involved in the community. Since her son was diagnosed with autism 20 years ago, she has served as Director of the Autism Society of British Columbia (ASBC), chairing the Community Networking Committee through the ASBC and facilitating the Surrey Parent Support Group, among other roles. Laurie is a proud advocate for science-based autism treatment. Along with her sister, she helps care for her aging parents.

Four years ago, Laurie Guerra made a promise to voters to deliver on canceling the LRT, extending the SkyTrain, and creating a local police force. She delivered on her promise to voters and she looks forward to continuing to stay true to her word and deliver on extending the SkyTrain to Newton within the next four years.

Quote:

“Unlike typical politicians who make promises to voters and don’t deliver once into office, Safe Surrey Coalition is a coalition that makes a promise and delivers. Our track on delivering SkyTrain and a local police force in record time is proof of our commitment to Surrey Residents that want to see results”
